stove top coffee maker problem

I bought two stove top italian coffee makers. One big and one small one for single espresso. Trouble is the small one wont fit onto the trivet on the gas burner. Does anyone know whether you are able to buy some sort of cast iron in fill piece to span the trivet and allow the coffee maker to stand steady on the hob?
