im not, i winder if theres uch a thing? our gun club released about 60 this year (were a club of 34 members) and theyll probably be the only birds we see.... cavan wouldnt be renown for its crop farming.... its nice to see a dog working and all but personally id like to stick to natural game.. ie ducks.. but even they are getting a savage battering this year with lads out every day and night... this brings me to new thread!

i know a few landowners, they are putting up their signposts today, not wanting guns on their land.

We always have had wild Phezzies on our land as my father does not do Early silage.
Every year i see several clutches being reared in the fields, via Bino's from the kitchen window.

Good to hear - if every farmer was as tuned in a whole host of species from quail to corncrakes would be doing alot better!!:)

Up my road ive been keeping an eye on a nice few pheasants for a few years now. These are genuinely wild birds as its a sanctuary and the local club keeps their birds miles away on the other side of town.

Just a question about these wild birds- would there habbitat not need to be controlled from time to time? Too much of one gender more so too many cocks. And do many of these farmers that have sanctuary on there lands ever leave a select few in for a sporting shot once in a blue moon?
