Anyone Enjoyed Sufjan's Rabbit?

I tried to listen to this (my second unsuccessful attempt) yesterday, but I had to give up after four tracks. I just don't get how this album is supposed to be enjoyable on any level. I keep thinking there must be something to it given the uncontestable musical talent of the guy but it just makes my ears hurt.

I know it's impossible to explain why you like something but has anyone actually listened to this and liked the experience? Pretty much everything else he has done is amazing - I never thought I would enjoy Christian pop or banjo music - but this has me beaten.

Yea, I think it's pretty dire. I actually like one or two songs on it. Well, by like I mean that they're listenable.

I got this ages ago and listened to it maybe once. Last night I gave it another try, bits of it do sound like stuff like the Age of Adz but some of it is just unlistenable. I like Year of the Rat and Year of the Dog though.

It's interesting that he totally went away from this stuff and made an album like Seven Swans before the he came back to some of these noises. I don't think I'll be putting it on again any time soon!

    Pointless silly post

I think you quoted that post by accident, as that post was not pointless or silly as it gave an opinion and baked it up. Unlike yours which is just a rather pointless silly post.

I just picture him getting stoned now.
I remember when this was first posted I looked up a song, quite late into the night, that I can't find now.
But it sounded really similar to this.

    I think I prefer Mario's version.
