What is the point of rte two displaying aertel page 100 overnights ? This is something they used to do everynight a few years ago but now they have started doing it again tuesday-thursday nights from 1am till 7am. Surely they could find some french films or something to show.

I wondered that too, surely they have some stuff they could re-run through the night

They should put on the full series of Killinaskully overnight..

RTE ONE Already do repeats of daytime stuff overnight shortland st, telly bingo, dr phil ect. There is a real lack of european cinema on RTE, I Think after midnight on RTE TWO would be perfect for it.

I'd rather sit and watch the aertel page for a few hours to be honest.

There was a very violent movie on RTE late last night called funny games, i would have preferred the aertel page.

Brilliant film, albeit not for the faint-hearted

Bring back the Last Picture Show with Brian Reddin

Those are all old films, surely can't cost much to put them on TV and the introduction and production is already done

Would be a brilliant time filler

They show some pretty good shows at the moment on network 2 after midnight.
Tonight we have Rescue me, Hope springs and criminal minds at 3:35 am for us night owls:cool:

I know this is a zombie thread and might be closed soon, but I know the answer :D

1 night when I was out I met someone who working in IT in RTÉ and asked them why RTÉ just put on Aertel at night, surely they could just put on some old movies over and over, the answer I got was that to put on a show it takes at least 3 people (1 to put in the tape, 1 to check everything is ok and a backup) who would all get massive night rates and food allowances (when the canteen isn''t open you get an allowance) whereas for Aertel, they are putting that on anyway and all they have to do is flip a transponder switch that can be checked from the radio building. The joys of union jobs

Funny Games is a fantastic film. Each to their own I guess.
