right was doing the track rod ends in my car yesterday and did the passengers side not a bother.was doing the drivers side then and it was a nightmare. long story short when i was undoing the lock nut and it wouldnt budge so heated it up got the spanner and gave it a belt with the hammer(not a hard one) but instead of the lock nut moving the inner rod rod twist.so is the inner track rod end f**ked now too? (sorry if i asking the obvious now)

The inner tie rod is free to spin. It would have a kind of socket joint and is required to spin to adjust tracking. Otherwise you would have to loosen out ballljoint and spin track rod end to adjust tracking.
You need to hold track rod end with visegrip or whatever and losen nut away from track rod end then screw it off.

    What car is it?

Are the inner joints at the
Steering rack not all ball and sockets? So the'll naturally rotate? Getting back to your stuck locking nut, I assume you've tried all the usuall stuff like wd40, someone here even recomended coke. do you have a spare nut? You could try cut it off, but just use a junior hacksaw so as not to damage the threads. You could also try cutting around between the nut and outer track rod, to try break the seal between them.

    its a 2000 honda civic

ya i tried the wd40 etc and nothing so then i just heated and cutting it was going to be my next option. had done the same to the passengers side and that worked no bother(heating it just to make it clear).
