I like the idea of them but never bothered with them until now! Downloaded FeedDemon and decided not to take the preset feeds and see if I could build a proper custom list for myself.
Wouldn't mind anyone pointing out some cool or informative stuff? :)

RSS feeds? Do you really need your news that urgently?

You can download food now?

Downloading food is a crime and takes away from legitimate farmers.

Lifehacker, RTE News, Explosm and XKCD. Just use Firefox though, not a reader. Does anyone use the Boards ones?

Have feeds for the BBC, RTE, and This is London (evening standard). But always forget to view them and go straight to the website.

Here is a screen shot from my feeds:

I didn't know what RSS feeds were for years until I spent a bit
of time reading about them and realised how much time they
    would save.

I used to go to all my favourite websites several times a day to
check for news or just general reading info. This would take up
a good bit of time if you are checking around 10-20 different sites
    every day.

What I did instead was, add the feeds from all my sites to Google Reader
and now any time one of them updates, the article is available from
the reader rather than going to the actual website. So now I can
check 20 websites at once which saves a huge amount of time.

I also have it synced with my phone so I can read on the bus/train
without having to get pissed off with any sites that are unreadable
    due to resizing issues. :)

RSS feeds are great when you know how to use them. They're a real time-saver when used with sites like Netvibes and iGoogle. I have Netvibes as my browser homepage, and feeds setup for over 20 sites. I can quickly scan all of the articles on a single page to see if there is anything I want to read (it's much quicker than visiting each site one by one)

Some of the feeds I have are: Ain't It Cool News, Comingsoon.net, iBood, Lifehacker, Nialler9, Eurogamer, Kotaku.... there are hundreds out there.

If you want to know if your favourite site has an RSS feed, there is usually a link on the footer of the page (look at the bottom of Aint It Cool News and Eurogamer as an example)

I just use Google reader and some feeds on it are:

    Lifehacker
    Gizmodo, Engadget, i09
    NASA
    Popular Science, Popular Mechanics
    Wired Science, Wired Danger Room
And some twitter feeds for Mars Exploration Rovers, Brian Cox, UCD.

    SAVES TIME GODDAMIT
