just bought a Finlux TV 37FLHHD850PU. Can someone tell me simply if this has MPEG 4 for receiving DTT.

At present I can get sound on the 15 channels but no picture. I looked up the TV specification but cannot find definitively if it has MPEG 4.

    Help would be great.

    thanks

"Sound and no picture" would strongly suggest it's got an mpeg2 tuner only. If you bought it to receive Saorview just return it to the shop you bought it from as not fit for purpose.

Get either a FreeviewHD, TNT HD or an official Saorview certified TV (currently only made by Walker).

Is this the one you refer to? http://www.finlux.eu/index.php?page=products&productid=56

If so the Receiver Spec is MPEG2 and not MPEG4 as you require

Possibly if bought in the last 18 months you have a case for refund or replacement.

A certain Australian retail chain did sell the brand. I'm not sure if they still do.

Like the op I bought a new tv which is onlympeg2 (a while ago though it was last january from argos) Am I entitled to take it back and get a refund to buy a MPEG4.
    Still have the receipt somewhere.
How do I go about this and do I need to quote some consumer act/recomencdation.
    Thanks
