Was looking at two Citroens on Donedeal one is a 2cv Dolly and the other is a Charleston. I am interested in having a look at these. Any advice on which model is best and what to buy or not to buy would be appreciated. Can;t manage to add the pics to boards.:p

You'll be killed in any sort of crash in pretty much any classic car...

Bit of a non-subject around here. We tend not to think about it too much ;)

If I remember correctly there is only 1 engine in those beauty which is 652 cm3. But u should doubled check that.

I would say get the one with the better body, it rust pretty well.

You remember incorrectly i'm afraid :D. Both the Dolly and the Charleston had the 602cc unit.

The 652cc engine (with electronic ignition) was fitted to the Citroen Visa and the LN/LNA series.

Hit up the rear end with a truck and nowhere to go, with five or six cars parked in front of me. Oh I'm sure if I had a volvo or similar both me and car would be fine :D:D:D
Not exactly the kind of help that I needed thanks to 2cv and those who pointed out about engine etc and other links. Will have a look anway,if you don't look you don't see:p

I will survive :D, the 2cv was family car when I was kid so as the Visa. :D

I learn how to drive on a Visa, slick vehicle!!!

The Visa to go for is clearly the GTI 115 bhp ;)

The Dyane 6 is nice, very nice, but is no match to the charm of the 2CV

    Have a read here;
    http://website.lineone.net/~lcvaisey/buy.htm

Plenty more when you google 2cv buying (or buyers) guide.
To be honest I don't like reading too many of these buyers guides when buying a classic....they can make you very paranoid about almost every car on Earth.

Got to see the Charlston. Has a fair amount of rust particularily underneath and as it needs to pass an nct I decided to let someone else work on this one. Still looking though !

Rust underneath does not have to be a problem....

    Brand new chassis: €499.00
    Floors and sills: about €100.00
The look of a restored 2CV: Priceless.

There are some things money can't buy. For everything else there's Mastercard.
    :D
