    Has anyone seen the 1960 version of this with Kirk Diugklas and is what was your opinion of it and would you recommend it as a must see film

    It's a classic alright. Should be going dirt cheap on DVD. Well worth picking up if you like historical epics.

    It is just about the most talked about "Remake" never to happen, and instead they have made a **** load of rubbish TV adaptations or TV films.

    I remember Bruce Willis once saying he would do it for free

    An amazing film, that is due out on blu ray in Europe in the coming months.

    I saw last years US release on Blu ray and it looked really good. The European version is meant to have been remastered again with the picture quality better than the original US blu ray release of the old classic.
