What do the fees/registration people at unis do for the rest of the year?

    I remember emailing someone in the registration department during the summer (after CAO came out) and they were 'away on holiday' which struck me as odd seeing as it was pretty much the main time of the year people would be asking about registration.

    Last week my mam was phoning the fees office as the deadline to pay is tomorrow, and one of them was away on holiday. Seems a bit odd that people take holidays during the one month of the year they'd be needed?

    In fairness, students are being registered all year round, just the bulk of them are at that time of year. Whenever you ring an office in NUIG you should look up their webpage and ring every number until you get someone.
    Even that doesn't always work though!

    They take care of the grants and scholarships and stuff too.

    If I had a job that was only busy one month a year, and I could take my holidays for that month, then I'd know exactly when I was taking my holidays.
