Can u stop the phone from automatically turning sideways when u put it on its side? Ie can it be vertical allways?

i have a htc desire and downloaded a widget that allowed me to disable auto-rotate on and off at will. it should also be in the settings on the phone but i don't have the exact spot.

i've also moved your thread to the android forum.

You don't need an app for it,

go to settings > Sound & Display > Orientation (Turn it off, it's the 6th option from the bottom on the Galaxy)

the app / widget is handy though for toggling the setting quickly.

Quick Settings app has it, and Froyo 2.2 has it in the pulldown notifications thingy.
