    What would be the distance from Galway to Clare,going across the water i.e Barna to Ballyvaughan?

    Heheh. There was talk on boards before about boat trips in the summer to run tourists out to the cliffs. This would have to be a lucrative business I would think.

    Using the ruler in the Tools menu on Google Earth the distance from Barna Pier to Ballyvaughan Pier is 8.88 miles / 7.72 nautical miles / 14.30 kilometres.
