The curse of "failed negotiations"

Listening to all these conflicting stories from fighters about fights that failed to materialise for different reasons in their own opinion, is F*CKING ANNOYING.

Pacquiao/Mayweather Haye/Klitschko, its always the same. One fighter tells his side about why it didnt happen, and the other side tells a contradictory story that can be sometimes equally believeable when all is taken into account.

Fans then choose which side they take as gospel when in essence its usually somewhere in between what both fighters say.

If only negotiations and contract offers, official contracts that is, were made public so we know what both fighters are accepting and demanding. I'm sure this isn't of benefit to the fighters as some of our favourites would probably lose face and our respect too.
We would get a good idea then who is being unreasonable rather than this charade of fighters blaming each other. There would be a public demand for the known unreasonable party to grow some balls.

With Haye and Wladimir, I dont think for one reason that Haye desperately wants to fight him. im no great fan of Haye as a man but saying that I also do believe that the conditions the Klitschkos place in their contracts are extremely technical.
Haye cannot expect to fight for the title and not expect to give a rematch should he win.
But in theory, this business of having to fight big brother aswell is a load of tosh. Basically its the rest of the heavyweights against both brothers which is a joke.
These guys are obsessed about having all the belts so to say Wlad offered Haye 50/50 with no strings attached is just plain lies.

A fair deal would be 60/40 split in purse in favour of Wlad, with a rematch clause should Haye win. But that should ensure all belts are on the line, not just IBO and IBF. Let Wlad risk them all and put his WBO belt on the line too. There should be no provision to fight Vitali, and this should be made a legal impossibility. It would not happen where any other fighter insists an opponent fights another named fighter after his own proposed fight with that guy. Its nonsense. If you lose your belts, use your rematch clause. if you lose that then join the queue.
Let your brother work on independent negotiations.

However, Haye on the other hand doesnt cover himself in glory either with his excuses. I think he knows he is not even nearly ready to take on either. and he uses the conditions as an excuse, when if he was really confident in his ability he would take them on.

    Good post ,
    I agree totally .
It's frustrating for the fans , and also goes back to the fact thats there's no single boxing authority/body to force fights to happen .
Belts mean little compared to purse .

With regards to Haye , he may feel deep down that he gets just one big pay day vs either Klitschko .
It better be worth his while .

In fairness , Haye did more than his fair share of publicising the prospective match-up .
Haye's loud voice got the media , fans , and Klitschko's interested . He pursued it by getting heaps of tv/internet interviews and photographs etc .
The Klitschkos were almost dormant in comparison .

So Haye has earned his fair cut of the purse .
He managed to turn an unlikely match-up into a Super-fight !

I get the feeling though , that this fight may never happen
