RF Out to RF In?

My setup - SKYHD in one room, RF1 Out is cabled to a second room.
I have an old SKY plus box here, that has no viewing card and only picks up the standard free channels etc.

The Sky+ box is connected to a Projector, so there is no tuner involved.

Is it possible for me to view the HD signal thru the "antenna In" connection on my second sitting room? or would it need to be "tuned" in through a telly.

Not sure I can what I want to do with the projector without stumping up for a second monthly subscription to sky. All I want is to be able to view the 1st sitting rooms signal...

The RF in/ RFout is just a loop + addin internal Modulator (which is Mono and poor quality SD), no RF tuner.

The viewing card should work (with initial complaint) in either box except for premium channels.

You can get HDMI to Cat5e adaptors and run 2 x Cat5e cables between the rooms if projector has HDMI.

Or you can use a Video sender on Scart of HD box (no HD, downsampled to SD) and put other 1/2 on SCART or composite in of the Projector. Though Video senders are only Composite, they are higher quality than built modulator (FM rather than AM) and do real stereo. Also unlike built in RF out, when you buy a pair you get a "tuner" (the RX half).

If you have wifi try "A" on Video sender and 11 on WiFi or 1 on Wifi and "D" on video sender to avoid interference.

Avoid the 5.8GHz senders as the range is poorer and they may be illegal here.
One of the better made ones I have tested

Should be in Childers Road store

Cheers Watty. I had a feeling that wasnt going to work.

I put the new HD box in the room with the LCD telly - cause the projector does not have HDMI. I guess from your post below that that was the right way to go - if i put the HDBox in the room with the projector and run the RF out it wont be an HD signal.

Also if i do the HDMI over cat5e I will not get the benefit of having the surround sound connected over optical.

Guess I will have to look at the wireless sender again - had one over 5 years ago and it was rubbish - maybe they have improved.

    Most are rubbish.

You can connect the RCA electrical Digital out via TV coax, if both ends have it (usually a black RCA/Phono type socket marked Digital or SPDIF http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SPDIF) . No advantage to optical. You can even get RCA+ Coax to Optical TOS adaptors as it's the same signal.

any other suggestions for getting a second signal from HD box to projector?

I tried the AV sender, it just doesnt work in my house... too far between rooms i recon.

Projector has Composite, Component and DVI only. oh yeah and s-video.

Coax for Composite from the scart. Not HD.

You can't really get HD into the Projector. On selected DVI OUTPUTS you can get HDMI adaptors. There is no cheap way to feed HDMI into anything that is not an HDMI input.

Component is a US spec for HD. anything recent in Europe with Component will only do SD. Basically in Europe only any use for games console.

Not worried about HD quality, just want to be able to watch the saem channel from HD box on the SD projector.

Ok, so scart from HD box, over coaxial yeah?
I presume I would need 3 coaxial then? one for each rt and left sound and one for composite video?

    :)

yes. you can use skinny audio coax as it's not RF

You can get long flat 4xaudio coax.
