Could skype interfere with bonjour?

After ridiculous problems and no success getting a wireless printer to work with snow leopard over my home network, I suspect an issue with bonjour. Skype has bonjour disabled within it's application. Could this affect functionality overall?

    Paging mac networking experts

what printer are you trying to get to work? skype as far as I'm aware definitely does not interfere with bonjour.

It's an hp b110. Skype has an 'enable Bonjour' menu item in the mac version for calls between devices within your local network. I'm just trying to get to the bottom of strange behaviour. The printer appears in add printers and then disappears after 30 secs or so. It will install fine but then never reconnect. It's plugged in via USB now and works fine. The other (windows) machines in our house have no problems using it as a wifi device

I'd say it's not getting an i.p address or has a manual one setup on a different range. classic symptoms.

I can get into it using it's static ip address in safari that I gave it and windows finds it every time. It's strange
