    Hi,
I'm considering selling an item on ebay. I'm new to the whole online auction business so please forgive my ignorance. We, i hope to get quite a good bit for the item so i would prefer to actually get the cash rather than have to deal with having the money in my paypal account.
Is it possible to do this?

It is but as far as I know the buyer wont be covered unless they pay by Paypal.
So if they paid by say bank transfer and you didn't post it then they couldn't do anything about it.

They could of course pay by bank transfer and then collect it from you in person.
Maybe try and sell it on Adverts if you are trying to avoid the fees.

It is possible to get cash for something you sell on e bay. I sell the odd few things online and when i sold my old pc last year the girl i sold it too wanted to pay cash for it. that was fine we arranged a time for her to pick it up and she paid in cash. I marked the item as sent on e bay and then marked it as payment recieved. that was it sorted then.
Alot of buyers prefer to pay by pay pal because they are covered but if you and the buyer are happy to exchange the item for cash then there is no problem.

If you are selling on eBay it is advisable to request payment by Paypal.

You can transfer the money to either a savings a/c or current a/c .- within 2-3 days
