Painting after wallpaper

Heres my dilemma , at the moment I have perfectly smooth walls but I would like to wallpaper one wall , My Husband is against this because he thinks it will ruin the wall if we want to paint it after the wallpaper is removed. Is there anything we can do to prepare the wall so we can paint it again in the future after we take down the wallpaper or should I just leave the wall painted.
    Thanks for any replies

Theres no problem painting over walls when the paper is removed, just use plenty of water when removing the it.

Remember to size the wall first before papering (a coat of light paste to seal it, its easier to work with the paper). Apply this a couple of hours before you hang the paper.
    Good luck.

Going to assume the wall to be papered is already painted. If not, apply a coat of paint to it to seal the plasterwork or platserboard (especially plasterboard as it's impossible to strip paper cleanly from raw paper backed gyproc) and stop the paste from penetrating the plaster.

When you strip the paper in the future, wash off any remaining paste/size with hot water and washing up detergent. Rinse off with cold and allow to dry. Paint as normal.

Thanks for the replies , it seems sizing is the way to go so I'll do that.

    Thanks Again

Yes but when stripping it off go with the advice of Wertz, hes right on the mark with the washing down .
