Plenty of these about. Sold a BMW 2002 Touring a few years ago because didn't have
time to replace completly rusted chassis leg. Made sure new owner was fully aware of
amount of work needed. Surprised to see car some months later with another new
owner who had bought car for a lot more than I had sold it. A quick look under car
confirmed that full rust repairs had been very skilfully carried out with underseal (and probably the commonly used structural repair method of chicken wire/crunched up newspaper)!!!

well...it was a STEAL at €1500 and I was too slow. Its still cheap at the new price if the work has been done properley.

Definite steal at 1500 but would it cost that much to get that work done??

Depends if you do it yourself or pay someone to do it. Big difference in price.

As 911s said if you are able do this work yourself and do it in a professional manner then there is nothing wrong with making a few quid on your trade/skill.

Apologies, I misread your post. I thought you meant that the car had been professionally repaired which it obviuosly wasn't.

Sorry, I'll go get my sackcloth and ashes. :o
