Ladies I need to get a decent sports bra (please read armour) :D

I'm a newbie to running - just on the final stretch of C25K, but I'm planning on keeping this up as I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

I currently have a shock absorber level 4 bra/top but it needs to be replaced at this point.

    Any recommendations?

    I use these http://www.lessbounce.com/acatalog/Anita_High_Support_5527_Sports_Bra.html

Used shock absorber when I started running, didn't like them. Moved on to M&S extreme support, too much chaffing when you go over 13 miles. These, perfect in every way. Great support, you'll literally get no movement and no chaffing. At £40 a pop they're expensive but it's worth it for me.

    Thanks RacoonQueen

I've been looking online and just unsure as to the suitability of any - plus I have big boobs :o so I don't want them moving as it hurts. The shock absorber doesn't let them move at all.

I still use the M&S ones, but that's mostly because I get 20% off the price of them (mum's staff discount). I'm not exactly small on top either. Unfortunately they seem to be changing the max support ones to a crappy front zip design, which is really annoying :(

Shock Absorber have brought out a running-specific max support bra, might be worth checking that out.

I would love to know how you put that on...one of the clasps looks like it is between the shoulder blades lol

I have one problem though - I'm currently a DD cup, so I'm afraid to spend a fortune on one or two and in a few weeks be smaller and have them useless altogether!!

    hhmmm

If your size is likely to change over the next while just buy one at a time and get re-measured before replacing it ; they should be replaced fairly regularly anyway and a good sports bra is just as important as a good pair of runners i.e. worth the investment. There's a good article about choosing the right sports bra in the current (December!) issue of Womens Running magazine (Easons). Never tumble dry them, line drying helps keep the elasticity!
Decathlon have a great range so I always stock up when I'm abroad as they're really good value. Might be worth checking out their store in Belfast. +1 on the Shock Absorbers too. You could try a crop-top compression type bra over a regular 'encapsulation' (separate cups) sports bra for added support.
