Somewhere along the line I've lost my leaving cert results and I need them to update my CV. Can I get them from the CAO or somewhere? It's about 10 years since I did my leaving.

    Ask your school.

    Or contact dept of education.

Ye can get a copy from the state examinations website - €13. They come by post in a few days from my experience.

If you still got your Student Examination Number that you had for your Leaving Cert handy might help you to get it online. Best bet to go to the School they might sort it out for you. Good Luck OP.

I've interviewed hundreds of people over the last 10 years (less in the last 2!) and I've never asked them what they got in their leaving. Is it a specific requirement of the position you are applying for?

And do people still look for the leaving results? I could understand if you had just left school, but 10 years is a long time.

Since I went straight into employment after school it's the most recent exam result that I have. Should I leave it out, do you think?

Its up to you, but if I was interviewing someone it would be the last 10 years of employment I would be more interested in. Something I see is "Leaving Cert successfully passed 2000". Unless you got exceptional results like 7 A+?

If its a big area of interest the interviewer will bring it up.

I'd agree with maxwell smart here (great name btw:D). I've interviewed over the past few years also, and would look on leaving cert results as 'padding' on a CV in most cases - it's really not relevant, particularly after 10yrs. It only comes into play if you're just out of school I would imagine, unless it's specifically asked for.

Saying 'Junior Cert 1997 and Leaving Cert 2000' would be sufficient. If an employer specifically asks for them, then I'd go hunting.

Best of luck in your job search, OP

Hi OP. That long after finishing school, most employees would be more interrested in life experience and employment history. I done A-Levels and GCSEs 13 years ago, i just have my A-Levels listed and number of GCSEs passed. Have never been asked about them or my schooling in an interview apart from in the few years after completing them.
