depends what sort of car you are looking to buy , best to take a mechanic with you to look over the car first
Have a budget and stick with it , remember that whatever price you pay you need to pay a 5pc buyer s fee and 180 euro indemnity fee
Would stay clear of high mileage ex fleet and high mileage repo they have had the **** driven out of them

Overall some very good stuff in merlin auctions very clean and you can pick up a bargain if you look around , staff in merlin are grand and place is spotless and very well run

Despite the popular belief among the general public there are generally no bargins at auctions these days. Just newbies bidding against each other and end up paying close to garage prices on cars with no warranty or comeback.

If you don't want to pay dealer prices then buy private and have a good mechanic check the car over. You will get a better deal than at an auction.

Reading your post, I thought I had written it myself. That is exactly what is going on at the auctions right now. Stuff is going very close to retail, certainly stuff that is wanted.
