I don't know what happened, but I can't seem to see certain images on websites like the BBC News website. There's just blank space where a preview of a clip or photo should be. It was fine a few weeks ago and FF told me to update flash which I thought I did, but perhaps I didn't install it. Anyway, this morning FF looked for an update again so I installed it and restarted FF. It hasn't resolved the issue. Is it possible Glimmerblocker is doing something? I've never really taken the time to tweak it.

It's most likely GlimmerBlocker. I don't really use it anymore, but when I did I used to notice this kinda thing a lot. Find out the source of the images and add that domain to the whitelist.
