Calories / Nutrition

I have decided to come off of months of dieting and am trying to boost my metabolism again after months of eating 1000 – 1200 calories by eating 2000 calories a day again, but I am unsure about a few things.

I know that overeating your daily calorie allowance will add weight, and eating within your daily allowance will allow for weight maintenance, but what I am unsure of are things such as (i) fat grams, (ii) saturate fat grams, (iii) protein etc., and of their effect on weight.

What I am unsure about regarding these sources of nutrition, is that do they in themselves lead to weight gain if the average daily recommendations (grams of saturates / grams of sugar etc) are exceeded? If my daily energy needs for instance is 2000 - 2100 calories, would it matter if I ate lets say 2000 - 2100 calories, but ate more than the daily recommendations for grams of saturates / sugars/ fats etc?

Or is knowing the calorie content of what you are eating enough for weight maintenance? I'm actually well aware of the side effects of eating too much of such foods, but I don't actually care to be honest as I simply want to maintain my weight.

I am not interested in purported healthy foods, but will I be ok in the long run with regards to weight maintenance if I simply keep within my daily energy / calorie needs (even if they are slightly unhealthy), yet exceed daily recommendations for grams of fats / saturates / sugar etc.

    Thanks.
