Hey guys I'm not looking for advice I already know what I need to do, just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of free legal aid, either a no win no fee solicitor or student solicitor. Have tried several with no luck. I am not working due to college and can't afford hefty solicitor bills.

PM me if you're giving names

    Thanks

Go to your local Citizens Advice Bureau, they usually have a solicitor come in once a week to give free legal advice to those who cannot afford it.

FLAC will provide you with outline advice but cannot take on a case on your behalf. If you attend at your local FLAC centre they should be able to give some clarity to your queries and also point you in the direction of your local Free Legal Aid Centre. Please be aware that there are considerable waiting lists for free legal aid (non criminal) and that you must have disposable income of less than 18,000 per annum and disposable capital of less tha 320,000 in order to be eligible for legal aid. Legal aid is also not available in all instances and you must satisfy the board that your case is a reasonable one.

There are alot of solicitors who will take on a case on a no win no fee basis, even though this is not something that they technically should do. You should contact the solicitors in your area in order to discuss this. Please be aware that in such situations you must have written down by your solicitor an outline of your agreement in regard to their fees. Please also be aware that no win no fee situations never cover the outlay. Therefore, if your case were to involve personal injury, you would have to personally fund costs such as court expenses, the expense of a medical report and an engineers report.

Hope that helps. Best place to start is FLAC.

Ok apologies because I did not put all the info that I should have into this. Went to my local FLAC center, I was met with check the Golden Pages for a no win no fee solicitor. Tried about 10 no win no fee solicitors to be met with "we don't deal with a case like this". Not a huge case I have, along the lines of small claims court I suppose.

If you went to 10 different solicitors and none would take your case then I would confidently say you dont have a claim (or at least one that can be brought home successfully)

In other words youre flogging a dead horse.

I would not be so confident. The o/p says the claim is small. The fees recoverable in a small claim are uneconomic. The o/p may have a perfectly good case but the chances of recovery of economic costs are nil. E.g a claim in the District Court for a defective vehicle. Scale costs would be no more than a few hundred euro and a many hours of time and effort would have to be put in.
Most no win no fee cases are personal injury and judicial review where there is at least a prospect of recovering a reasonable fee for the work.
