Upgrade to cheaper UPC Digital (NTL Ireland is UPC) and use SCART off set-box for UPC.

    Well then, we can't help.

You should not be trying to merge an aerial cable and a UPC cable. What if it affects the signal for paying subscribers?

You connect and you can be liable from when you moved in.

I use an "aerial switch box" from an old Nintendo console, works a treat for things like this but requires you to manually set the switch.

I use a setup like this to bring the NTL analogue stations and the DTT channels into the house on the same cable. Basically you need a box that will isolate DTT at 738 Megs (Ch 54) on one side and the VHF and lower UHF frequencies that NTL broadcast on the other.

    i.e. a splitter/combiner with input ranges 47- 710 Megs (Ch 2-50) and the
    other 718 - 862 (51-69)

I got a Triax TMC5052 to do this from atcsupplies.com for around €20 last year.
