Stop folders appearing in the Gallery

This one was bugging me for a while, every single picture and video on my SD card was showing in the gallery....theres no option to select a "pictures" folder, and only display from that folder.

Found the next best thing...If you have a folder with videos or photos that are personal and you don't want them visable when you open the gallery app, or just to reduce clutter, place a file called ".nomedia" in the folder, then, that folder and all its contents are removed from the gallery...
