are there any CAM's/Conditional Access Module
available that are known to work with the Irish DTT system ?

Also in the UK teletext page 284 on the main UK channels can be used to see if you could receive a good enough signal - is there anything similar on aertel ?

    It's not technically possible.

Those converters are MPEG4 decoder / MPEG2 encoders. Usually if something is designed for MPEG2 the CAM slot can't manage HD.

    See http://www.techtir.ie/saorview/preliminary

The Neotion "CAM" (all models) don't do HD. Saorview is really an HD service that for the moment is all SD channels. That will change channel by channel over the next few years.

If you get TG4 and TV3, it's likely you get DTT. Though may be some places that have DTT and no TV3 and some places that have TV3 and no DTT. Not all the TX sites are the same.
