I will be waiting to see what happens to the price after the budget. My crystal ball tells me it will go down further

Even if I do decied to invest it will only be a very low stake :P

If you thinking of taking a punt why not just put your money on a favorite in a horse race as you have a 1 in 3 chance of winning.

Should you not try and define what makes a great company and then put your money into that companies shares rather then putting money into something that may or may not be worth something someday?

long term invetsment maybe very unstable at the moment. although some american hedge fund or invetsment fund bout 60 million shares the other day. those guys dont spend on the hope it will go up

Neris do you have a link to back up this rumour ?

It sounds very doubtfull that anyone with an ounce of sence would put into this now ?

And this is based on your careful analysis of the results of most major European banks over the last week or so

If you are looking for a bank to invest in then, UBS AG would be a far superior bet, as you call it:
    • They have sorted out their US problems
    • Cleaned up their investment banking division
    • Got their tier 1 ratios up
    • Very limited exposure to credit card debt (Swiss market only)

    Among other things...

    Jim

Why would you even want to own BOI in the first place??? There in lies the answer to your question....

    Good luck with that,

    Jim

Seriously guys, there are now at least three active threads discussing BOI, this is getting silly.

Mods, merge (preferably delete) these stupid BOI/AIB threads please. It's getting back to ridiculous again.

    Thanks.

    analyse my left one

You throw up a dumb post saying you might lob 4 or 5k on BOI for no apparant reason with no analysis to back anything up .... Jim (who knows what he is talking about) comes on and takes the time to offer some advice on a much better capitalised bank with far better prospects and provides reasons to make the advice up ..... and you take the p1ss out of him (i.e. the poster, not the post) in your two responses.

who's the 'tulip', in fairness ?!?

Damnit pocketdooz, don't you know that if you have life savings not only do you have to invest it all in the Irish market but you also have to invest it in BOI or AIB? Sure the price can only go up!

Locked. Use the BOI main thread.
