Black/Death Metal Appreciation/Recommendation Thread

Could see another one of these threads around so I figured I'd set this one up.

I personally, love black and death metal and the hundreds of little sub-genres within. The techincality of some of the bands involved is breathtaking. I've often found myself sitting on youtube for hours looks at derek roddy's drumming technique or listening to some obscure Nile track such as (although its not that obscure its my favourite):

Ha thats gas, I have just put on Emperor before I read this post. In the Nightside Eclipse is such an amazing album and has such a dark and foreboding sound to it. As much as I like I am the Black Wizards the track below is my fave

I'd be a big enough fan of Death Metal mainly old school bands though, Morbid Angel, Death, Carcass, Cancer, Cannibal Corpse, Zyklon, Behemoth, Bolt Thrower, Pestilence, early Deicide, that kinda thing and maybe a few sun-genre bands like Heaven Shall Burn, older Arch Enemy. I'm quite picky when it comes to the bands I listen to, not to look 'cool' or anything it's just the above bands have what I enjoy about DM.

Black Metal I wouldn't be a fan as much, I'd only really listen to Emperor and Immortal.

Just getten a taste for death/black metal etc lately started with
Emperors Anethems To The Welkin At Dusk its excellent stuff
Cradle of Filth Midian has some good stuff on it,Her ghost in the fog been my fav track.
Entombed Candlestine waiting to get my hands on the Left hand path album.The title track been having some of the best riffs ive ever come across.

Well my favourite song is I Will Lay Down My Body... which is 18 minutes long but Two Hunters is a phenomenal album anyway.

And yeah I love Altar too, so annoyed that I missed them in the Twisted Pepper and when they were here with ISIS but now that I'm 18 I eagerly await their return.

Being a teenager at the end of the 80' I grew up with the NWOBHM and speed-thrash but I really enjoyed the most of this music with the new wave of death metal.
