On the 29th of October 2010, SAORVIEW will be turned on as a trial service. From that date, RTÉ One, RTÉ Two, TV3, TG4 and RTÉ News Now will be broadcast as trial digital services. More channels, services and enhancements will follow as part of the full launch of the SAORVIEW service in spring 2011.

For more information go to: www.rte.ie/saorview or later today to www.saorview.ie

Very strange as it has been absent up until last night. And apparently still isn't there now.

so what do i need to get Saorview? will an ordinary satellite and box be enough, or will i need something else? Don't have Sky or anything like that. Currently receiving RTE/TV3 by an aerial in the attic.

looked at that pdf, but am a bit confused over this.

Just did a re-scan, no TV3. Not a big deal but its a pity they couldn't be botherd to get onboard for the official trail period.

To get DTT you need either a TV with a MPEG4 tuner built in or a set top box, of which there is none that are approved as yet. edit there is one approved by some company called Walker

DTT signal is recieved by a bog standard aerial.
