    Hey Guys,

    I've been thinking of diversifying my portfolio and including spread betting. Does anyone use any of the main spreadbetters i.e. CMC, TD, Davy, Worldspreads? Have you any preference?

    Probably for the investments forum but remember to include your leverage if you are diversifying your portfolio.

    For example - Your current portfolio is worth EUR 1000 and split evenly between 10 companies - you have EUR 100 in ten companies each or 10% in each.

    You then take a 1 point spread bet on EUR/USD.

    Your portfolio now looks like this:

    Companies (1-10) : EUR 100 or 0.91%
    EUR/USD : EUR 10,000 or 90.9%

    A 1 cent (1000 point) move the wrong way would wipe out the current amount of your investments in companies 1-10

    You can get a trial spread betting account with paddy power and try it out see how you go - I made incredible losses very quickly :eek: thank got they were pretend ones :D
