Head Unit with Bluetooth, Aux-In and MP3 Playback

Hi,
I thought this might get the best response here. I'm basically looking for a very simple head unit, all I need it to have is an Aux 3.5mm jack input on the front panel, bluetooth and mp3 CD playback. I've had a few different Aldi/Lidl ones and they all seem to have the same problem, that when my mp3 player is plugged into the cig adaptor, there is a buzzing that correlates to the engine revving. This happens with different mp3 players, different chargers, different vehicles and my auto electrician said it's the head unit at fault as they would be cheap components used. I also missed out on the last Lidl one, but the price is very attractive!

If anyone can link me to a good one to get, 2nd hand or new for maybe €90 max including delivery I'd really appreciate it. I've seen a few alpine units on adverts but they all seem to require an add-on cable for aux, which itself is about €30 :eek: So I'd like the whole thing ready to go for €90 max if possible!

the aldi/lidl radios are a bit of a mixed bag. some of them work fine and some WILL go faulty. the budget is pretty tight so im not sure what options you have. the basic pioneer headunit is €100 but no bluetooth think there is a similar sony model too for round the same money.

I'm guessing the Sony model would be a good bit better quality than the Aldi/Lidl units and shouldn't have the same flaw?

did a quick search on ebay for "aux bluetooth" and there's a few there but Sony would be one of the only "known" brands at a low price.

i have nothing against aldi or lidl. i buy a lot of stuff there, electronic and other. i have 2 computers and a 42inch plasma from aldi and they never had any issues.

the radios are another story, i would stay away from them. the sony unit looks nice and i have fitted a good few of them in the past with no problems. be careful if you are ordering a radio from ebay that it is not an american model, they use slightly different radio frequencies over there so you will only get a handful of stations here. must be a european model. those two you mentioned look fine.

I have the same as that Sony 3700, except mine hasn't got the USB port. It's a really good unit. I play the music from my phone through the radio via Bluetooth. Tis the business!

Hi again folks, I received the head unit today and unfortunately, Sony being Sony have also "customised" the bleedin connection on this thing so it doesn't fit my ISO connection :mad:

this worked fine with the Aldi unit but the Sony lead is completely different and won't fit in anywhere.

I'm thinking to connect the Vauxaul> ISO to the Sony > ISO and that it should hopefully work then? Would anyone know for certain before I order?

When I got my Sony I had to remove a Panasonic Head Unit, I went to Halfords, told them my car, told them the Head Unit I needed the adapter for and they told me what one I needed, I ended up buying it elsewhere because they were sold out but they are handy if you're stuck

That was probably a "Your make of car" to "Sony" harness. I think it would make more sense to buy an ISO to Sony one, so it fits more than just my car if it comes to it. I thought there was some EU thing where all phones and stuff from now on had to be chargeable with a micro USB thing, they should do the same for head units and every other "accessory" thing too and make them all universally fitted.

I think the above combination should work, I hope, would love to hear confirmation from someone though

Aaaah my apologies, mine doesn't have the USB output. Hopefully someone will pop along with the correct info you need.
