Last minute as usual with the halloween ideas but need a very temporary black hair dye that will wash out completely in couple of washes or less. Any one got any recommendations?

My hair is naturally a dark brown but has some redish tones right now from my last trip to the salon. I've actually got a proper hair appointment next week but my hairdresser will go ape if it's still black I fear.

so there are sprays, mascaras that wash out after one wash,

i guess use a deep cleanse shampoo every 2nd time if it stains, maybe use one after the product. read the instructions. perhaps even ring your hairdresser.

As sunshiner said, there are lots of hair sprays or pastes that wash out really easily - very handy when you want blue hair for Halloween, but need it gone for work the following morning! :D If you're in Dublin, there's a few stalls in George's Street Arcade which have hair sprays and pastes.

Now I want blue hair! :D Damn it I was in town round there today. I'll just have to pop into the chemists round here tomorrow if I get a chance now I'd say and hope for the best or do without! Is the spray or the paste better?

I found the spray better because you can just spray it on easily and it doesn't get all over your hands! It's slightly more expensive, but dries instantly and you can be more accurate with it. It also put a better colour in my hair. The only downside is that you need more of it than the paste.
