TV3 trouble

We recently got a new aerial installed in the house so we could get the free Irish digital stations and the normal analogue ones. Everything works fine except TV3.The reception is truly awful. It's snowy, full of shadows and at times gets so dark as to be unwatchable.
I asked someone about fixing it and he said that everybody is having the same problem with TV3 now.
So should I just accept that or should I try someone else?
I'm on the west side of the city in Galway in case that matters.
    Any help appreciated :)

I don't know your area but TV3 analogue is OK for me.

If could depend on which transmitter you are receiving tv from, TV3 only transmits from 12 of approx 170 transmitters. Do you know what transmitter you are using? How many aerials are installed on your house to receive tv, one (uhf), two (uhf & vhf)?

Someone from the Galway area, here on the boards, may be able to give you more specific advice.

Thank you The Cush. That's interesting that your tv3 is ok because I was told it was a countrywide problem. The new aerial system has two aerials installed as far as I know. Tv3 seems to be the only channel it has trouble with. I don't know what transmitter I'm using I'm afraid.I presume it would be the main one servicing Galway west though because I'm in a densely populated area.

I would avoid going anywhere near an installer who told you it was a "countrywide" issue.

I'm in NE Galway and i'm having no problems with TV3, can't tell you which transmitter I'm getting it from unfortunately.:(

Def not a country wide issue

The TV3 EPG was up earlier and the channel name was changed to TV3 briefly rather than RTÉNL 1.

TV3 is only on Analogue, presently, with about 80% coverage. They will eventually be on Digital.
