    You and the person you are calling have to have a wifi connection.

    We both do, and I've tried it with a 3rd person but still wont connect!?

    We've both used it before and it worked fine.

    I've found it temperamental as well - only about 2 of 6 attempts have connected, and all phones tried were on wifi networks.
    One of the times it worked the 2 phones were on the same wifi network in the same house - really useful, thanks Apple!

    has worked perfectly for me everytime, on wifi or on 3g :)

    FaceTime is crap use tango it's free on the app store and works over wifi and 3G!

    I found Tango crap, FaceTime working a treat for me on wifi and 3G thanks to My3G.

    I haven't kept an eye on it as I always have chunks left from my allowance at the end of each cycle. Will check the next time and post back as it'd be handy to know.
