The V-Max is a varmint round - designed for rapid expansion.
Grand for necking foxes but not recommended for larger game such as deer :D.

im using 85 grain and 100 grain federal ballistic tips in .25-06 they are a great round it leaves the neck in bits you only have to run the knife through to take off the head, headshot a stag the other day it destroyed the head completely.

wouldnt use the 85 grain for chesting animals the 100 grain would be all right for chesting. One thing i noticed if the animal is chested with the 100 grain is that the entry hole is a lot bigger than the exit hole

They are a super bullet going to use the 85 grain for the hinds and calfs.

Cheers for that,i had them in mind for neck shooting hinds and calves,i'd imagine heart lung shots would be very messy.

I used 120gr Norma in my 6.5x55 when I had it. Neck shots and no problem. No looking for blood trails or following up because it will be there where you shot it.

    I have a .308 this season. And I have used 155gr hornady BT's and 125gr BT's both very effective
