Mobile mechanic in North Dublin for a Peugeot?

I have a Peugeot 307 which won't start. I've tried jump-starting it but it won't budge and now the electrics won't work and even the central locking is gone! I'll have to get someone to come have a look at it because I can't bring it to a garage.
Any mobile mechanic suggestions? I'm at a bit of a loss here so any help would be appreciated. :(

Buy AA membership, ring AA, be all sweet and innocent, sorted. :)

Oh what a horrible situation, you poor thing. Does your Insurance include pick up? Some do so check that out first. I know of a great and reasonable sound mechanic in Swords but he doesn't do pick ups so if your Insurance includes towing then PM me if you want his number. Best of luck.

Exhaust all other options before spending the mullah. The battery might not have enough charge to turn the car over. Buy a bottle of red wine and put it in to the battery. This will get the electrolytes moving again and might get the car going.

Try swapping the battery for one you know isn't flat and then try start it.

Thanks, I figured the battery might have just reached it's last legs and got another one from somebody to put in but now I can't get the feckin' battery out of the Peugeot! :o Sigh, I'll have another look before work tomorrow when it's bright again.

Is there anyone you can ask to give you a hand. Don't depend on mechanics all the time. Get someone to show you step by step all these little things and you'll be able to do them yourself in future. :)

Have you called your insurance company.

As stated above most offer a breakdown service as part of your policy

I've heard it all now

I suggest becoming a "car whisperer". Maybe it's just depressed.

Did it on my own car last winter and my dad did it on his trajet when he noticed his battery was getting a bit weak. It does work. Much better than topping it up with water as others do and we never had to buy new batteries.

@Bonito, do you have a mullet and a swiss army knife?
Would distilled water not dot he same/better? Capture rain water in a non metallic container if you really want to top up a battery. Most are sealed these days anyway.

I don't recommend that any amateur feck around with adding any liquids to batteries, recipe for disaster IMO.

You got it Ted, Grylls hasn't a patch on me.

Just google it, you'll find countless tutorials and how-to's on numerous sites.

I also believe everything that I read on Google :D

Repleneshing electrolytes in the battery isn't going to cause it to overcharge and produce dangerous levels of hydrogen.

It's not rocket science. I never said the vids are on google, I said use it to find them.

Look, it's tried & tested and it has worked for me, twice, so you can stop trying to scare people in to thinking they're going to blow themselves up. :D

If the OP is that worried, she can pick up a new battery for 40 blips or so.
