I'm looking to buy a 4 seater convertible for 10-15k, 2002 or newer. Looking on carzone, looks like I am narrowed down to BMW 3 series, Merc CLK or Saab 9-3. I am leaning towards the Merc, but would appreciate any suggestions.

even though their 4 seaters you do know any adult in the back will have a pain in the ass very quickly.. space in the back is not great imho

I've taken your advice on board, and added back the Audi A4.

Out of your query I like this one, it seems to have the hard top with it, http://www.carzone.ie/search/BMW/3-Series/318-CI-C/201041199842683/advert?channel=CARS

leather is essential, with kids and ice cream;)

    Cheers.
Btw, Has anyone any experience with these hardtops - do you take it off and leave in the garden shed or what? (If you can fit it in.)

Yes basically stick it in the shed for 6mts, It'll add warmth and extra rigdty to the car in winter, also makes the car look good as it turns it into a pillarless coupe.
It's still a convertible just comes with a roof which was an optinal extra at time of purchase.
If the winter is as bad as last you might be glad of it if your using the car all year round.
