Fret Buzz - Truss Rod or File?

Hi I'm getting fret buzz on the 14th fret of the D string on my Epiphone es-335. Its not the worst buzzing but its damn annoying and want to get rid of it. I've tried raising the action but it didn't seem to make a difference and since the buzzing is only on one fret I'm wondering would i need to alter the bow in the neck with a truss rod or file down the particular fret. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    :pac:

Have a look down along the neck and see if you can see the raised fret. It should be fairly obvious. When i say look along the fret board, i mean hold the guitar so your eye is behind the bridge and your looking along the neck at all the frets.

Thanks man. I looked carefully but couldn't seem to see any difference in the frets. Also the problem only seemed to start after i changed strings but I didn't change them all at once so i don't think that would have affected the neck tension and I put the original string on and it was still buzzing. There seems to be a very slight bow in the neck but apparently thats supposed to be there so I dunno what it could be. The string looks like its hitting the frets after it which seems to be causing it but the actions already quite high and raising it does nothing.

Thanks anyway I'll probably take it into town and see if they can do anything for it.

Change the string if you havent already. A string can be dented even if you cant see or feel it while its tuned up. Another possibility is the next fret up has lifted out of the wood a bit and might just need to be hammered down again.

get a flat piece of metal (an allen key works good) that covers three frets. Put in on the frets in line with the strings over and back across the fretboard. If one of the frets is raised somewhere the metal will rock over an back at that point. Then you can see if the fret has raised up out of the neck. this sounds like the most likely problem.
