This is something I'd like to know, if you'll be so kind as to divulge the info. It is open to all emergency services.

''What does your organisation mean to you?''

''What does your role mean to you?''

By role, I mean the role of being a police officer, paramedic, fire fighter etc in your organisation.

So many people think of why they want to join, before they join. But very few ever say what it means to them once they are established.

So, what does it mean.. :)

Exhaustion, hassle, crap wages and being away from home!!!

On the plus side, great craic with the unit, job security, meet people and it's rarely boring

    Good Q OP...

Plus side: great job satisfaction, a sense of pride, making a genuine difference (whether it's saving a life, bringing a new life into the world, or doing what you can for someone in their last moments) it's never boring, normally great craic and job security.

Negatives: long hours, some of the crap calls, dealing with drunks, heavy workload (somedays), and like everyone, the pay used to be better.
