ABC is reportedly moving forward with the development of its Charlie's Angels remake.

According to Deadline, a pilot of the project will soon be made.

The remake was first announced last November, yet a pilot was never produced.

In May, Smallville creators Miles Miller and Al Gough replaced the project's original scribe Josh Friedman and the reboot was reportedly fast-tracked.

Gough and Miller will executive produce the show alongside Drew Barrymore, Nancy Juvonen and Leonard Goldman, who worked on the original television series. Barrymore starred in and produced two Charlie's Angels films.

Filming for the pilot is expected to begin in Miami in January.

This go-’round, TVLine has learned, the show will be set in Miami and Bosley will be hot. (No offense to David Doyle.) Also of note: Leonard Goldberg, a producer on the original series, is on board, as is (behind the scenes) Drew Barrymore, who brought the crimefighters to the big screen. Overseeing the whole operation will be Smallville alumni Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.

Now the question is, who should play the Angels — and the sexed-up Bosley? Your suggestions below.

Dania Ramirez has joined the cast of ABC's Charlie's Angels reboot, according to make-up artist Wendi Lynn Avignone.

A post on Avignone's Twitter account, later deleted, claimed that she had been reunited with Ramirez.

"Dania and I worked together Heroes and Entourage," she wrote. "Here we r Charlie's Angels! (sic)."

An ABC casting rep later denied the rumour, according to TV Squad. Ramirez previously played Maya Herrera on Heroes and has also played recurring roles on Buffy The Vampire Slayer and The Sopranos.

General Hospital star Annie Ilonzeh was recently cast as a "smart and athletic" angel named Kate, while Robert Wagner has been confirmed to provide the voice of Charlie.

The ABC project is being executive produced by Smallville creators Miles Millar and Al Gough.

Ramon Rodriguez has joined the cast of ABC's forthcoming Charlie's Angels reboot.
TV Line reports that the actor will play Charlie's liaison Bosley in the new pilot, which will star Minka Kelly, Rachael Taylor and Annie Ilonzeh as the Angels.
The character was played by David Doyle in the original Charlie's Angels series from 1976 to 1981.
Rodriguez previously appeared in episodes of The Wire and Rescue Me. His film credits include roles in The Taking of Pelham 123 and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
The character of Bosley, reinvented from the original series, was previously described as having "savvy hacking skills" and "a killer six-pack... under his designer suits".
Filming for the Charlie's Angels pilot began last month in Miami.

Should be pretty easy to recast a voice, right?
Really hoping it's not cancelled. Remember the Knight Rider reboot from '08? Originally they had GOB from Arrested Development, he left & was replaced with Val Kilmer. It could work out for the best.

ABC's new drama Charlie’s Angels seem to want to go back to the '70s to rustle up some girl power, but it fails miserably and offensively.

The series is a remake of the jiggle show that seems to be remade so many times it’s like Equus. After the movie franchise, what can possibly be said about “angels” who save people in distress and kick ass in the process?

Well, this much can be said about the new television version: It’s beyond heinous. It contains some of the worst acting of the last decade on network television, much of it by Minka Kelly.


The writing is atrocious. It’s like a spoof that suddenly took itself seriously. That ABC could have made this on the drama side and the yet-to-air “Work It” on the comedy side – far and away the two worst shows of this new season – says a lot about what it takes to get fired in this town.

Listen, to go on any more about Charlie’s Angels – even to the point of talking about who’s in it or who wrote it (why embarrass them any more than necessary?) gives the show more validation than it deserves. Don’t watch this show thinking it’s so awful it could be brilliant. Or that you could make a fantastic drinking game out of it.

Dreadful!...brutal stuff, just aweful. No redeaming features....Minka Kelly, my god!....her acting is just pitiful!, she looks as if she couldn't be arsed. The new Bosley guy looks like a guy out of CSI Miami...he's just wooden.

Best of the girls, Rachel Taylor....but her Aussie accent slips put and very distracting, i'm not saying she's good, but compared to the other two dullards she Oscar worthy. The only good thing i liked was the cameo of the original Bosley, but his apperance was rather cheesy and a poor insert/unnesscary.

Bad acted, directed, scipted....Marcos Siega has got a rep for doing good pilots, he's directed a good few TVD episodes, but Millar/Gough give him zero to work with. This is by far the worst new show of the season...i'm done, i've seen more then enough to form an opinion, it's not even "so bad it's good" it's just bad.

yeah fairly bad TBF, i was hoping it be a hit like five-0 but sadly its a miss, like knight rider and bionic woman,

seriously they missed a good chance to have a running arc for the season and missed it big time, im surprised this even tested well,
