I want to do a Masters in Paris next year and I would preferably like to get accommodation in one of the CROUS residences. However, I know that competition for these places is high so I'm wondering if anyone has been through the procedure and has any advice to give?

    Hi alexjk,

My answer may come late but I'll give it anyway :p Yeah the CROUS is crazy, it's really a pain in the *** to get accomodation through them. I applied when I was doing my Bachelor's degree and they told me I was on the waiting list for at least a year and half.

It depends from the university, of course, as some are really out of student accomodation. If it's in Paris or the suburbs of Paris, I'd advise you to try but also to start looking for flat sharing for example. Student accomodation is a real issue in France but in Paris it's just damn impossible to get any kind of room :/.
