    Hey all,

    My future in-laws are having a problem with their heating at the moment. I want to buy parts for the riello burner, but I need to know the output of the boiler first. Here is what I do know. It's a firebird. On the label on the side it say's;

    Model: BH2 (the BH2 bit is in handwriting)

    I can't identify or find any info what-so-ever on the boiler. Firebird have no details on a BH2 model?

    Any Ideas??.... thanks

    WOW.. thats old.

    At this stage I wouldn't worry about the boiler model.
    The burner is the important part. See if there are any markings on it.
    It is probably a G3B burner. ( or G5X bigger duty).

    Just to note: it is somes times cheaper to buy a new burner than individual parts like pump and fans. (plus labour to stri[p unit and repair).
    Most heating suppliers will supply parts/ burners. Just take the unit into them and they will match spares for you.
    But remeber to properly set up the boiler and burner you need to check oil pressure and analyse the flue output to measure CO2, CO and air mixture etc. You might be better off calling in a boiler service engineer.

    Hi ntpm,

    Your correct about the burner. Its a g3b alright. I'm only replacing the nozzle, but I have a feeling the old one may be wrong. I wanted to get a nozzle (jet) based on the output, but I assume this is also limited by the boiler size etc..

    I will adjust the air damper if necessary and see how it runs after. For the moment its just important to get it up and running!!!

    Thanks for the sound advise anyway.

    I might be back yet, as I don't think the problem is due to the nozzle - perhaps the stat!, time will tell....

    Would hazard a guess and suggest that the nozel size should be 0.60/80/H or 0.65/80/H but might be a "S" installed as some boiler guys prefere "solid" nozels... they are more common.

    I was thinnking the same. The one on it was a 0.5 60 H, seems a bit weak?

    I'll try a few things tomorrow and see how I get on. Thanks
