    Killerig.

Played it a couple of years ago and it was a kip, that's the course, service in the bar/hotel not much better. That's my opinion though.

Had a mate play there recently, he said it was a dump.

He got it for €25 on a Saturday and still said it was too much for the quality of the course.

    Wouldn't play it myself...

Mount Wolseley and Carlow would be close enough... Carlow also has a 9 hole pay & play course.
Also Mount Leinster Hills, Baltinglass and Kilkea would be within striking distance.

Of those, I've only played Carlow (main 18 hole course) and Mount Wolseley and you won't go wrong with either as long as you can get out... probably a better chance of that at Mount Wolseley (Tullow)?

Menbers only in Carlow on a Saturday. Yeh Killerig is average track (being nice). With this rain falling, it'll be quite soft.

Rathsallagh is 30 mins away, fine track, don't know about availability.

Played it 4 years ago, very blend, wide open, some nice holes on the back nine, but not my choice if paying €25... better tracks near by.

yeah played it Saturday morning and thought it was alright. Not bad, but not great. I really dont think it was a kip as described by the other poster. it was a bit wide open and a bit easy. No real challenge to keep you entertained trough the 18 holes. no signature holes or anything to make it memorable. also the greens were in a bit of a bad way in patches.

it was an average course with an average price for Saturday morning.

Went to the club house on saturday night for a few pints and there was a great atmosphere there.
