    Hi all,

I'm moving into a new place and away from Eircom too, but i'm wondering who offers the best packages/speed/help etc. I need both TV and Broadband with no use for phone line.

I've contacted UPC as they seem to be fast and cheapy but they can only gimme' TV, i've also checked Sky, Smart, Clear Wire and more but I want your opinion(s).

    Who should I go for?

    Many thanks! :D

If you can't get eircom, it's unlikely you'll be able to get Smart. Sky don't sell broadband in ROI. Quagmire might be your only option.

Whereabouts are you moving to? It might give us some idea as to what's available.

    Thanks for the reply,

Moving to Leixlip village and I'd REALLY prefer not to go with Eircom...but can't be without the net

There is absolutely NO reason to get Pay TV unless you want Sky Sport.

Most watched channels are free via aerial or Freesat dish.

UPC or Digweb Metro for Broadband if you don't want a phone line. A very few areas have Magnet Fibre, or even Digiweb/Smart Fibre.

Clearwire is left Ireland. Their Midband system Taken over by Imagine. Imagine Wimax is also "Midband".

Freesat (free). But if you insist on paying for TV then UPC or Sky.

Is there anywhere that do good freesat deals? How much is the average? Is there any downtime with freesat?

Imagine quited me at 30euro a month for 3 mb which is quite ****, I checked with UPC and they can't install in the buliding i'm in. I'll check D-metro

Freesat = Satellite TV. If it's down, then the satellite is dead, or it's raining so hard it's like midnight at noon.
Re: TV without Subscription (actually legal!) http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=55 and http://www.techtir.ie/saortv

Paying €60 to eircom or other DSL reseller inc line rental is mostly better than Imagine WiMax.
