Laptop melting my charger tip

I have a medion akoya p6613 laptop. My last charger broke after two months because the tip melted so I ordered a new one from ebay that arrrived today. As soon as I plugged it in it started to heat up (so much you can't touch it) so I plugged it out after a few seconds and damage had already been done. I'm afraid to put the charger in again until I resolve the problem.

Anyone experience this problem before or able to offer advice?
    Cheers :)

Most likely a faulty DC socket inside the laptop
