Strange inventions...

So, I was just sitting thinking (rather strangely) about the spoon I was using to eat something. It got me wondering as to whom invented the spoon per se, and who first mass produced it in the form we know now. I'm sure I'll Google it later...answers on a postcard if you must

But for now, what do ye think are the strangest invention's out there? And why?

When explorers first went to the arctic and found eskimoes, the eskimoes had steel spoons despite the fact that nobody else had ever been there apart from the eskimoes. The eskimoes actually thought they were the only ones on the planet. It turns out they actually took the metal from meteorites and crafted them into spoons!!

Yes I learned that on QI the other night. :pac:

that's....brillant! Thanks for sharing. Remind me of a funny story kinda.

Spent a winter abroad in Eastern Europe, -15, -20 degrees! Lighters just would not work most of the time...so I took one of those big cooker lighting devices (the one's that work from gas) and kept it in my inside pocket, never failed!:D
