    Hi all,

I need to buy a suit and I am willing to spend around €400 euro. Ideally this will need to be fitted as very little off the rails stuff fits me well. I need this suit as more of a fashion suit for social events, rather than a business suit. Anybody got any suggestions where I will get the best suit for my money? I need it to be a good material and have a range of colors to choose from.

    Thanks!

When I was looking for a suit for my boyfriend, I went to the expensive shops - but the jacket and trousers combo all had to be in same sizes, but as he needed a larger jacket it was impossible to get a nice branded suit.
So i ended up getting a gorgeous suit in M&S - cost me around 200€ but you can get everything to fit - they sell separates and the choice is huge. Nice shirts in there too :)

M&S also do an 'made to measure' alteration service to help you get a decent fit. For your bugit you'll find a lot of suits available.

Finding one however that is NOT a business suit is a tad more difficult. The majority of suits are business - navy, grey and the occasional black one thrown in there for good measure. There are a few grey or tan check suits around that don't scream 'Work' but not sure if you'll find one in M&S.

I know it is difficult to find a less business looking suit. I am hoping to find a suit jacket that looks good when open, and doesnt flap out like a cape! And something that would look good with both open collar shirts, or shirt and tie. Thats why i thought i might have to go to a designated menswear suit, formal wear outlet, where prices will obviously be significantly dearer.

If you want something that's classic without screaming "I've just come from the office", you might think about a well-cut grey glen plaid or something with a brownish tinge to it.

anybody knows of a good tailor? getting married soon and desperately wanting to lose some weight quickly.

looking to get a suit for the wedding - now, im tempted by the way business suits are cut, ie slim fit, and im hoping it makes the beer belly disappear a little bit.

however, i cant buy things off the rail as im less than 36s and the sleeves would be too long, so would need to be cut.

therefore, looking for a wedding suit that can be altered and can make me appear SLIM! (im slim apart from the damn belly/love handle thing). argh.

My husband bought a great suit in Zara - 'beige' in colour and very slim fitting - only fits him when he has been at the gym a bit ! It was reasonable and looked amazing on - he just wears it for informal events that need a suit or more trendy look.
