Can overthinking about girls/sex lead to stress?

I really want to stop thinking about girls/dating now that I'm in my Leaving Cert year.

I seem to have issues around this however because I always get turned on whenever I meet a cute girl. I'm usually friendly with her and all, sometimes I feel that they don't notice me but at least I'm talking to the girls.

Then before I get to do my studying, I feel slight pains in my stomach (nothing serious but I do feel a little stressed beforehand).

Other times I think maybe its because I listen to too many love songs on my iPod. When I realise this I start listening to Irish folk songs as they can be a better way sometimes to take my mind off girls, until I need something else to listen to.

I am not sure if this is because I am thinking about girls or because I am stressed over my exams.

I really hope its over the exams because at least I know how to handle that.

Any replies would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

Guessing your between 16-18. I know it might be destracting but is perfectly normal. Do you play sports? Excercise might help with the tummy pain which can be anxiety related. It also might help clear your head.

    Yo, thanks for the reply.
Yes I play sports, I actually have training today.
This usually does clear my head.
Its only when I worry that I'm not making an impression on the girls that this whole thing strikes me like a ton of bricks.
    Keep the replies coming guys/gals.

I've finished exams and that, it happens me as well mate. More depressing than anything, usually when your on a bad run withe the ladies like me currently.

I tend to get jealous of other lads who seem naturals at picking up women, and it gets me down. I usually need a few drinks to get the confidence, which always ends up in too much. Guess its a common problem, but that doesn't help me though.
