Trying to organise a girly break with my Mam and 4 sisters. Last year we went to Edinburgh and had a FAB time. This year I want to go to Liverpool as I have heard it is great for shopping, the only problem is the others want to go back to Edinburgh (I'm the kind of person who hates to go to the same place twice when you can go somewhere you have never been before)

So i'm looking for your reccommendations Edinburgh or Liverpool?

never been to edinburgh. you won't be disappointed with liverpool though. there is also the option of a trip to the trafford centre which is near manchester.

a very easy city to get round, and the night life is very good

yeah go to manchester instead, its just down the road from liverpool (half hour on the train), better shopping options than liverpool (arndale right in the city centre and trafford centre easily accessible on the tram), better nightlife options too

edinburgh is better than both though imo

If shopping is the priority, then go to Edinburgh. Liverpool is a great city with lots of things to offer but shopping is not really one of them. Another option would be to go to Chester, lovely city with Cheshire Oaks (shoppers paradise)

I'd say edinburgh, if you end up in Liverpool it's only 30mins or so to Cheshire oaks anyway..
